Degenerate elliptic equations with singular nonlinearities
The behavior of the “minimal branch” is investigated for quasilinear eigenvalue problems involving the p-Laplace operator, considered in a smooth bounded domain of RN , and compactness holds below a critical dimension N #. The nonlinearity f (u) lies in a very general class and the results we present are new even for p = 2. Due to the degeneracy of p-Laplace operator, for p = 2 it is crucial to...
متن کاملDegenerate Conformally Invariant Fully Nonlinear Elliptic Equations
There has been much work on conformally invariant fully nonlinear elliptic equations and applications to geometry and topology. See for instance [17], [5], [4], [10], [14], [9], and the references therein. An important issue in the study of such equations is to classify entire solutions which arise from rescaling blowing up solutions. Liouville type theorems for general conformally invariant fu...
متن کاملWeighted Sobolev Spaces and Degenerate Elliptic Equations
In the case ω = 1, this space is denoted W (Ω). Sobolev spaces without weights occur as spaces of solutions for elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations. In various applications, we can meet boundary value problems for elliptic equations whose ellipticity is “disturbed” in the sense that some degeneration or singularity appears. This “bad” behaviour can be caused by the coefficient...
متن کاملNonlinear degenerate elliptic equations with measure data
In this paper we prove existence results for some nonlinear degenerate elliptic equations with data in the space of bounded Radon measures and we improve the results already obtained in Cirmi G.R., On the existence of solutions to non-linear degenerate elliptic equations with measure data, Ricerche Mat. 42 (1993), no. 2, 315–329.
متن کاملRegularity Results for Very Degenerate Elliptic Equations
We consider a family of elliptic equations introduced in the context of traffic congestion. They have the form ∇·(∇F(∇u)) = f , where F is a convex function which vanishes inside some convex set and is elliptic outside. Under some natural assumptions on F and f , we prove that the function ∇F(∇u) is continuous in any dimension, extending a previous result valid only in dimension 2 [14]. Résumé....
